I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.

I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.

Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.

Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.

Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.

Tropes: Young Adult | High School Romance

First and foremost, I really enjoyed Letting You Go by Jordan Marie. This is the first book I’ve read from her and I’m genuinely excited to read more. I do want to mention though that this book cover is deceiving. When you look at it, you see adults, but this is NOT an adult romance. This is a young adult high school romance. Had I known this prior to reading it I most likely wouldn’t have read it because I was looking for a small town, adult romance. Either way though, I’m glad I did despite it being different than I thought because this book is so good. Another thing that should be mentioned for potential readers is that this book is NOT a standalone and there is a major cliffhanger at the end. Again, had I known this I more than likely would have skipped it because that wasn’t what I wanted but I enjoyed the heck out of it anyway. I just wanted other readers to know this before buying it and expecting one type of book and getting something completely different.

Gavin and Luna are absolutely magical together. Jordan Marie made their relationship (despite the many hardships) feel so authentic that they came alive through the pages. I wish these two could have had an easy go at first love, but their relationship was anything but this. These two had everything stacked against them and there were so many times I wanted to scream and cry because of all the crap being thrown their way.

Gavin is a boy on the wrong side of the tracks. He has an alcoholic for a father and people seem to think Gavin is going to be the same way. For this reason, Luna’s father and mother won’t let her have anything to do with him.

Luna comes from money, but she doesn’t care how different her, and Gavin’s world are. All she cares about is the chemistry and love between them. Unfortunately, the world wants to keep them apart. First, it’s Gavin’s brother Atticus who is borderline psycho and makes Gavin seem like a bad seed. Then it’s a murderer who starts killing girls with a rose calling card. Could things get worse for these two? They sure can and Jordan Marie packs punch after punch.

Readers will have to wait and see what becomes of Gavin and Luna in the next novel, When You Were Mine. I’m sure the road will be bumpy, but I have high hopes for these two! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Absolutely A must read.

I freaking adored this story. Jordan delivers with Gavin and Luna our two leads. Young love at its absolute best. The path to their journey was a few years in the making but god she nailed it.

Luna Marshall has secretly been in love with Gavin for what seems like forever. Shes known as the ice queen at school. Forever turning down dates because there’s only one boy she wants. And that’s Gavin.

Gavin doesn’t have the best home life. An abusive father who takes pleasure in the bottle and beating his sons. His brother Atticus is a piece of work. Jealously courses through his veins. He resents Gavin and isn’t afraid to show it.

Luna is the one thing that’s good in Gavin’s life, even if it’s watching her from afar. He’s been gone for this girl from the moment he laid eyes on her. But his brother Atticus also wants Luna. Gavin though will not let that happen.

When Gavin finally makes his move I swear I melted. This man simply adores her. But when rumours are spread at school and it appears that Gavin started them she is heartbroken. Enter the asshole brother who will do anything to destroy his brothers happiness.

It’s months later that Gavin and Luna get their second chance. Their romance is kept hidden, only her best friend Jules knows and though she’s unsure of Gavin’s intentions at first she finally comes around when she sees that this boy would do anything for her friend.

Not everyone is happy. Luna’s father doesn’t want Gavin near his daughter, keeping her on lock down she’s left with no choice but to sneak around. Gavin’s only dream is to leave this town and the memories it holds and he wants Luna by his side when it does.

But it all comes crashing down spectacularly when Gavin is accused of something he didn’t do. When all Hope seems to be lost, it’s Luna and her statement that clears him. That and the belief of an FBI Agent who believes in Gavin’s innocence.

When the agent offers Gavin a chance to leave town start over and start pursuing his dreams Gavin thinks it’s all going to be fine. Luna and him will finally be together.

Lies, hate and accusations and anger though will tear them apart. You are in for a cliffhanger but I seriously didn’t care. I just loved this story. The development and engagement with the characters has me invested. I can’t rate this enough.

Jordan is one of those versatile authors who can write anything in any genre.
Letting You Go is a sweet story of a first love and doing the right thing even when it breaks your own heart. Don't let the sweet fool you though. This book has so much. Drama, suspense, romance, and secrets. I don't want to spoil anything but Gavin is kind of my man so back off my book boyfriend umkay. Just kidding I will share. Another five star read from one of my favorites!

Heartbreaking Romance

I absolutely loved this story. A first time read of this author and it was not what I expected. I didn’t think it would have the depth of characters it did being a story set around school age kids but from the start it just grabbed you. Luna and Gavin’s love story is no kids story, it’s raw and very real. There are so many emotions, happiness, love, anger, sorrow and great sadness and I can’t wait to read how Luna and Gavin’s love story ends if book 2. This will definitely be an author I will follow.

This may be just me because I’m just coming off an amazing YA duet, but this was just meh. I thought there was much more potential and it fell a bit flat. Didn’t realize I was getting into a suspenseful story at the end.

This was told in multiple POVs at least 4 which I’m not sure why just yet.

Well let’s see Luna was sweet and dull and I never understood why these MCs were so in love with each other. Gavin was grim and not sure how appealing he really was. Atticus was a dick. Jules was useless. The other characters were drap.

Interesting enough to pick up the next one. But am still bored.

"Trust me, Luna. The moon may have a gravitational pull that controls the ocean, but your pull is just as strong."

I was so excited to read this story when I learned it featured Gavin. I met him while reading Diesel/Rory and was so intrigued by his character. I sensed a painful past and wanted to know the details. Now, I know the details. Now, my heart is broken, because of... letting you go.

In case you aren't already aware, this is just the beginning. The author took me back to high school and introduced me to Gavin and Luna when they were just crushing on each other, before they fell in love. Because I was present during 'the fall' I feel even more invested in their story. Because the story is told in dual POV, I know more than each of them do about each other. What a position to be in when I love them both. I want to throw some magical rainbow dust at them and make it all better.

Jordan Marie, you are an evil woman. You pulled me in and then left me rocking in the corner as I wait for more. You made me feel and connect with Gavin and Luna. You also made me rage and hate some others, who shall remain unnamed but cursed. I'm so excited to get my hands on When You Were Mine and all I can say is she better damn well become his again! But, if not... I'll take him. The line forms here...

5 SMOOCHES!

Jordan Marie has completely outdone herself with this book. I’ll be honest, I went into a little nervous because typically I’m not a fan of stories about such a young couple. But I’ve read every single one of Jordan’s books, and I know that this is one author who surprises me with her storytelling at every turn. I trust her to take me where I want to go, because she has consistently done it time and time again. So in I went, and I was not disappointed.

If you’ve read Diesel and Rory by Jordan Marie, you’ve met the hero, Gavin. This story, however, is unlike any other story she’s ever written. I don’t want to give too much away, but we Jordan takes readers back in time to give them a glimpse into this man’s history. Gavin and Luna’s story is bursting with those young love, butterflies-in-your-tummy feels, but Jordan turned this story on its head with an intriguing suspenseful plot.

Engrossing and consuming, I couldn’t get enough of Gavin and Luna’s sweet romance. I’m literally on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book and the completion of their love story. Five smooches from me for Letting You Go by Jordan Marie!

This is a bit of a departure for Jordan and now I'm convinced she can write any genre.

First love stories can sometimes be a little too sweet however this story bucks that trend. Luna and Gavin are complete opposites, his home life couldn't be more different from hers. He's the boy from the wrong side of the tracks she's the good girl who never makes waves. However when cupid strikes that arrow there is no stopping these young lovers.

Gavin can't wait until they can leave everything and everyone behind and start their lives free to be together. This is a duet so you know something is going to happen but that was one twist I didn't see coming. A great first book that's left me desperate for book two.

This story.... It didn't go as I thought it will. And it wasn't that a simple story. It had much more dept to it. It had sweet and smile worthy moments, but also it had moments, when I was frustrated or when I wanted to kick someones a$$ so badly. I was all over the place with my emotions. This story hooked me and I didn't even noticed when I finished it. You know it's a good story, when it feels like it was a novella, instead of a full length, you were so absorbed into it.
Luna... That girl. She was sweet, good and... I don't know. I didn't connected with her completely. She was too trusting and naive for me. At one time, I even thought shes being selfish. But that's not because shes a bad person, who is all about 'me', but more from the fact that she was sheltered from the darkest part of the world. That shelter part didn't helped her to understand Gavin and how he was suffocating in that town.
I loved Gavin. He was young, but really mature. Loved how he was so devoted to Luna. He's feelings were sincere. And while he couldn't 100% give up everything for her, I understand that. After everything he gone through, yeah, I understood him so well.
Can't wait to start "When You Were Mine" to find out what's waiting for Luna and Gavin after how this book ended.

This is not a young adult story even though it plays out during the last years of high school. It is romantic, first-love, secrets, and then the switch. There is also abuse, murder, and the cliffhanger. I was wondering through the reading if there was a cliffhanger and when I read to the end, I scared my dog with my scream. The story is really awesome until the cliffhanger. (If you haven't figured it out I hate cliffhangers.) No, it really is an awesome story.
Gavan and Luna have to hide their love.
Gavan's home life is horrible he and his brother have to work after school to pay the bills and eat peanut butter sandwiches. There's no love, either way between the father, who is a drunk and the brothers hate each other.
Luna's home fills her with joy and love. Her mother is always there for her. Her father is always gone, traveling for work, but comes home on weekends as often as he can.
Luna has loved Gavan since the first time she saw him at school. Gavan has loved Luna since the first time he saw her. Neither has spoken to the other. Until now.

I received an Advance Reader Copy in return for an honest review.
And I have already pre-ordered the next book.

We first met Gavin in Rory and Diesel’s story-he was a great character but we didn't learn that much about him. (and while you absolutely can read this with out reading the other duet(promise) I still recommend reading Diesel and then Rory) and I liked him then. Now having read the first book in his story… just WOW!!!
This book was emotional and sweet and full of angst! - Gavin and Luna’s story will literally break your heart. There is a mystery as well….. one that won’t be solved until the second book of this duet….. (don’t worry- it comes out in June). I know a lot of people don’t like cliffhangers, but I think once you read it, you will see that their story needs two books!
I don’t like to give away spoilers – but seriously- you want this book!!! It’s a bit different from what I am used to with this author but once again- she doesn’t disappoint!!
I can’t wait to find out what happens with Gavin and Luna in the next book!! A+++++++ Jordan Marie!!

This is the first story of Luna and Gavin's duet story and it was such an emotional, sexy, suspenseful, heartfelt and heartbreaking riddled love story. I've been waiting for this read for a while and it didn't disappoint at all, well it does end on a MAJOR cliffhanger and I'm super anxious for the conclusion to these two people who were clearly meant to be together get their well-deserved happy ending <3 <3

Holy Hot High School!!! The drama. The romance. The conniving. The backstabbing. I do not high school. But I wouldn't have donated to miss out on this book. The struggles that Gavin and Luna have in building a relationship are mind blowing. The world is against them. With every page I waited for another tragic moment to occur.
Letting You Go crosses so many genres. Opposites attract. Second chance. Coming of age. Small town. Young love. What I really devoured was the desperation in Gavin's heart to leave Stone Lake. He was counting down the minutes to leave the town and never look back. He no longer wanted to be a victim of his birth. His plans were only made better when Luna agreed to go with him.

Luna was the all american girl. She never disobeyed her parents. She loved her small town. She was the perfect high school girl, all good grades and homecoming crown. She had only one thing against her, she fell for the wrong guy. Friends, family, and even enemies would stop at nothing to destroy them. When she rebelled her world came crumbling down. To protect her, Gavin must be destroyed.

Gavin was a leper. He was not accepted or wanted and so he must leave or be destroyed. The question is will Luna be by his side. Will they get there Happily Ever After.

I am not usually a fan of cliffhangers. That being said, Jordan Marie has a way of writing a story in such away that the cliffhanger draws out the suspense adding even more the excitement of part. And if the prologue at the book of this story is an indication it is going to be SOOOOOOO worth the wait.

This was my first book by this author and while she's got a very evocative way of writing, there are certain turns of phrases that were jarring to me. (Maybe it's a regional thing, but the sayings were not ones that have ever appeared in other Maine-set books. They sounded more like Southern phrases.)

Anyhow, that aside, I liked Gavin and Luna, even though I could see how things were going to play out. That was a little disappointing. But I was able to connect emotionally with Luna when she first thinks Gavin betrayed her. That's one of the marks of a good story for me.

I did not appreciate the sudden introduction of a third POV at roughly 30% into the story. The information we get from it could have been woven into the story in other - and better - ways. And quite frankly

Lastly, I don't like cliffhangers. If I'd known ahead of time I would have passed on reading this book. They always bring my estimation of book down when it's a surprise to me. I feel cheated somehow. And then so much other stuff gets introduced and it just muddies the water. This is not the type of YA or NA book I like.

Basically this is a case of the story just not being right for me. Others may - and do - enjoy it a lot more.

Just when I didn’t think she could write a better story, boom 💥 pow 💥 Jordan Marie knocks me on my tookas!

Luna is the epitome of a good girl and she owns it.  Great girl, works hard at school, makes mom and dad proud, and steers clear of trouble.  Well, physically anyway.  All bets are off when Gavin comes to mind.  Gavin does things to her no other guy does.  But he’s the bad boy, wrong side of the tracks, well Gavin probably isn’t even on the tracks unfortunately.  But he’s her one.  What she doesn’t realize is he feels the same but doesn’t pursue her because she’s Luna.  Gavin has nothing to offer but his heart and that’s not nearly enough.  Even though he has big plans, he’s fighting an uphill battle.

Young love involving complete opposites except they become so entwined they can’t separate.

Now Luna worked her way into my heart and Gavin, well, I just want to hug him and make his world better.  Add in a firecracker 🧨 best friend that simply speaks her mind and I was all in.  But then, I was introduced to Atticus and God have mercy on my soul but I wanted to throttle that guy.  I wanted to inflict such horrific pain.  It’s been a long time since I loathed and quite literally hated a character to this degree.  Gutting him like a fish would not have inflicted enough pain. If you can’t tell, I’m a bit peeved here.  That’s just how phenomenal these characters and story are.

Get ready for a new adventure!

There are those books that just grab you and don't let go, ya know? The ones that you can't stop thinking about. Well, I'm here to tell you this is one of those! And as I sit here, trying to write this review, it just keeps pulling at me. But here goes...

First, I want to say this is not my usual kind of book. I NEVER read teen love stories! And I hate cliffhangers!!! BUT this is Jordan Marie!!! And I will read ANYTHING she writes!!! I love her words!!! And this book is no different! GAH!!! I love this story and I hate it!!! I need the rest of it NOW!!!

Gavin and Luna own my heart! This story threw me back a lot of years to all the angst that we all feel as teenagers! Their love is so beautiful, and so heartbreaking! It totally had me on the edge of my seat through most of the book! There are some pretty big events that happen and I just wanted to scream at the characters a few times. Well, maybe more than a few!!! And I SO freaking need the rest of this story!!!

Jordan Marie, I love you but right now, I REALLY hate you!!! WOW!!! That was one hell of a book!!!!

The "first chance" story that leads to the second-chance romance.

Every second-chance romance has its beginnings in the couple's first shot at happiness. Usually that shot is merely referenced or described briefly, but here we get an entire book detailing Luna and Gavin's youthful love story and the heartbreaking reasons for its early end. It would be a sad story indeed if we didn't know that the author is bringing us their Part 2 soon.

Luna and Gavin are true star-crossed lovers, a pair who are perfect for each other but who have every card in the deck stacked against them. This is a romance that will draw you in right from the start, devouring every word, every scene, every detail. Even though you know it's not going to work out for them (now), you can't help but let your heart root for them and break right along with theirs.

It's beautifully written with amazing characters that will keep you guessing about their true motives all the way through. I'm anxiously awaiting the conclusion to this wonderful love story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Luna is both his lifeline and his anchor...holding him down to the one place he hates the most.
"Letting you go" is Jordan Marie's first attempt at Young Adult Fiction and she knocks it out of the ball park. Luna is a goody-two-shoes kind of girl who aspires to please her loving parents in every way possible. Labeled as the "Icebox" by her peers, Gavin sees something much more than the rest... but because he gives the bad boy, break your heart kind of vibe and comes from a really messed up family, he tries to keep his distance... tries but fails miserably! Luna views him as her "Mr. Perfect" but life and some pretty ugly circumstances will put their love to the test... a test which is impossible to pass. "Letting You Go" is an intense, gut wrenching Young Adult Romance which will play on all your heart strings and nerves. I just can't wait to get my hands on Book Two! 5 Grippingly Intense Stars for a story that hurts so good.

OMG! this book!!
It's a young love, boy from the wrong side of the tracks romance. Yes A story that has been told over and over but this one was different. First it's a Jordan Marie book and her style just sucks me in and I get lost in the story. Second there are so many levels to this story, so much more than young love going on! Angst like crazy, characters that I love, some that I hate, some I can't trust and a mystery. A murder mystery!!
This book has it all!!
OMG! I was in tears my heart breaking for the decisions my poor Luna has to make. They were hard!! And Gavin I just want to hold him and love him. Then I am hit with the ending. EVERYTHING IS SUCH A ROYAL MESS!
This is NOT your average young love, boy from the wrong tracks. This book was INTENSE and got me so worked up I wanted to choke the author. Or maybe just hold her hostage with her laptop until I get the next book.....

I absolutely LOVE when an author that I have read EVERY single book of can stir things up and shock me with her new release.
Jordan Marie stepped outside her "norm" to bring something RAW and CAPTIVATING!!
Hmmmm This story had my mind going from the very beginning and I was left wanting more and my stress levels through the roof!!!!
So... Letting You Go could go in several genres in the romance category, this caught me by surprise due to what I am used to from Jordan Marie. I was blown away at the emotions that were torn from me while this story about forbidden love took root and exploded even with people trying to ruin their happiness!! There are many questions throughout this book and I can't wait to see what the conclusion has in store for us!!

Jordan Marie has done it again. This Author is in my top 5. This book had it all. It will make you laugh. Cry, and get so pissed you want to slap someone.
Luna was such a good character. She thought the best of everyone or at least tried to. She was just trying to finish school and make something of her life. Then of course there was the massive crush she had on Gavin.
Now I was not real sure about Gavin at first. I mean he had been in another book as an older man and had the hots for someone else Humph !!!!! But he did grow on me so I understand a little. Now this does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared. Oh and bring the Kleenex you will need them. Now Jordan I need the next book stat please!!!!!!!!

HO-LY SHIT! This book is amazing! I could not put it down. Gavin and Luna have such an amazing chemistry right from the beginning of their relationship. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time, then the ending had me wishing it was out right now. Luna is so sweet and innocent, while Gavin is more pessimistic and lost in terms of him being worthy of love. I cannot even formulate the words to describe this story. This story took my top spot as my new favorite Jordan Marie books.

Jordan Marie is an amazing author who can write anything and pull me into everything she writes and this is no different! Luna and Gavin's story is absolutely amazing! Once I started I couldn't put this book down!!

I fell in love with Gavin when we first met him in a previous book. I had to know his story!

I can't wait for the conclusion of Gavin and Luna's story! Hopefully we won't have to wait to long. I'm so in love with these characters and they need a happily ever after even if it's not with each other. I might cry if they don't end up together but they deserve to be happy 😀.

We had a glimpse of Gavin in Rory and I have to say, I’ve been wanting to know more about this man. This book is just the beginning of his story and oh what a beginning it is.
I fell hard and fast for Gavin and Luna. Their love is the kind a girl dreams of to be their first love. And the heartbreak... Help me, my heart broke right with them.
Five plus stars from me. I can’t wait to find out more.
